Uni Systems: FORTH and Uni Systems enter Phase II of the eCARE PCP project with the BONVITA digital solution

The Center for eHealth Applications and Services of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) in consortium with Uni Systems, have been selected to proceed to Phase II of the eCARE Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) project with the BONVITA digital solution, developed to address frailty and pre-frailty conditions.
Following its successful evaluation during Phase I at the end of 2021, where it competed with 7 other solutions, BONVITA has now been selected by the eCare’s procurers as one of the four most promising solutions that now proceeds to the prototype development phase. The prototypes will then be evaluated by the eCare PCP Evaluation Committee and the best two will be invited to Phase III, where their performance will be validated and compared in real-life conditions.
BONVITA moves far beyond the state of the art, offering a holistic technology platform, integrating all components that are essential for the effective screening, prevention and management of frailty and pre-frailty conditions. It supports knowledge sharing and care plans involving various stakeholders, incl. care professionals, caregivers and older adults, in practice. The solution is accessible via web interfaces, TV sets, mobile and desktop devices, enabling interconnection with sensors and wearables, while its functionalities are also available through voice using an intelligent virtual carer.
The solution will not only encourage older adults’ independent living and wellbeing, but will also support the development of shared care plans that involve multiple stakeholders, ultimately helping to relieve health care services budget pressure.

BONVITA will be implemented in the context of the 856990 – eCare PCP project that has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme. The project aims to deliver disruptive digital solutions for the prevention and comprehensive management of frailty and at the same time to encourage elderly people to live independently, detecting and preventing loneliness and isolation, and promoting healthy habits.
