Spyros Theodoropoulos

Today, Spyros Theodoropoulos leads the food group BESPOKE SGA HOLDINGS SA, which he founded in early 2022 by acquiring the cold cuts company NIKAS, the chocolate manufacturer ION, the ready meals company AMBROSIA and the juice company HELLENIC JUICES employing 1,500 people.

He began his professional career in 1976 at the family-owned dairy production company Recor S.A. In 1989, he acquired CHIPITA with the aim of implementing the innovative idea of producing packaged long shelf-life croissants, for the first time worldwide. In 2006, CHIPITA merged with the companies DELTA, Goody’s, and Barba Stathis, creating the Group VIVARTIA, where he became CEO. In 2007, VIVARTIA was acquired by MIG, and Spyros Theodoropoulos continued to hold the position of CEO.

In 2010, Spyros Theodoropoulos, together with the Olayan Group and other Greek entrepreneurs, reacquired CHIPITA, which he developed into one of the leading companies in bakery snacks globally. He remained CEO of CHIPITA until its acquisition by MONDELEZ in 2021, in a landmark deal for the Greek food sector.

He is Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of SEV (Hellenic Federation of Enterprises).

In the past, he has served as Chairman of the Association of Listed Companies, Vice Chairman of the Athens Stock Exchange, member of the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Greece, member of the Board of Directors of Public Power Corporation and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Greece.

Rania Ekaterinari

Rania has over 26 years of professional experience, including positions of high responsibility, across different sectors. She began her career at Texaco, in the oil and gas sector in the Caspian region. She has also worked for more than 10 years in Corporate and Investment Banking in London and in Athens, for Deutsche Bank, BNP Paribas and Eurobank.

Important positions in her career include: CEO of the Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations (HCAP), Greece’s sovereign fund, with majority shareholdings in large state-owned enterprises and sole shareholder of the Privatization Fund (HRADF) and of the Public Properties Company (ETAD). Partner at Ernst & Young (EY) in Transaction Advisory Services and Energy Sector Leader for SE Europe. Deputy CEO and member of the Board of Public Power Corporation (PPC), the leading listed Greek electric utility.

Over the last years, Rania has taken the role of senior strategy and financial advisor to large corporates, while she serves as a board director in several boards, including ElvalHalcor S.A., Motor Oil S.A. and HEDNO S.A. (two of which are listed and part of the Athens Large Cap 25 Index). She is also Chair or member in various board committees, including Audit Committee, Nomination & Remuneration Committee and Sustainability Committee. In the board of HEDNO, Rania was nominated by Macquarie Asset Management (#1 infra fund globally) which has acquired an equity stake of 49%.

She is member of the Advisory Board of Dianeosis, the leading non-profit think tank institute in Greece on social, economic and policy reforms matters. She is also member of the Leadership Committee of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM). In the past, she served as member of the Hellenic Corporate Governance Council (HCGC) and of the Council of Competitiveness in Greece.

Rania participates in various international non-profit organizations for gender parity: she is the Athens Chair for 50/50 Women on Boards, co-chair of the Greek Chapter of WomenCorporateDirectors (WCD) and member of the European Network of Women in Leadership (WIL).

She has graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki from the faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering. She holds an MBA from City University in London (Bayes Business School).

Dr George Xirogiannis

George is the Director General at SEV Hellenic Federation of Enterprises, the CEO of its research institute and Vice-President of IVEPE-SEV its institute of industrial and business education.

He is a board member at Entersoft SA and a member of the advisory board of EGG at Eurobank. He also chairs the market access working group at BusinessEurope.

George served as the Deputy Director General at SEV from 2019 to 2022 coordinating industrial policy, growth strategies, investments, digital economy, regional development, and international trade. Prior to that, he assumed various director-level positions at SEV.

George has also worked as a Senior Manager at PwC, leading strategy and operations projects in Greece and abroad. George has lectured undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University of Piraeus and the University of the Aegean. He has written extensively on cutting-edge technologies and modern entrepreneurship.

George holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from Heriot-Watt University, Dpt. of Electrical Engineering, Edinburgh, UK and an M.Sc in Artificial Intelligence from Bristol University, UK. He graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Ioannina.

Katerina Daskalaki

Katerina Daskalaki is Director of Labour Affairs of SEV.

She is responsible for the issues of industrial relations (individual and collective level), wage policy, collective bargaining (National General Collective Labor Agreement, sectoral collective labor agreements), trade union issues, social dialogue, health and safety at work, social security (all 3-pillar issues) and more widely for the issues related to the monitoring and digital organization of the labor market.

She has been working at SEV since 2002 with specialization in industrial relations and social dialogue at national, european and international level, through SEV’s representation at the Ministry of Labor’s consultations and committees on matters within her competence, tripartite representative bodies, relevant working groups of the Businesseurope, the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) and the International Labor Organization (ILO), as well as through her participation in the management boards of the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (EUROFOUND) and the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU OSHA).

She holds an MA on International and European Studies with specialization in European Administration and Politics and a BA on International and European Studies, while she speaks fluently English and French.

Dora Economou

Dora Economou is Director of Human Capital Affairs. At SEV her portfolio includes issues and initiatives related to education, including technical vocational education, apprenticeship, internship, initial and continuing vocational training, in-company training, upskilling & reskilling structures and programs as well as the alignment of all the above with the requirements of the labor market.

In addition, her responsibilities include actions to promote inclusion, diversity and equality in businesses as well as migration issues, modern forms of work organization and human resources management systems.

She also participates in the institutional representation of the Association in the consultations and committees of the Ministries of Labor & Social Security, Education, Religious Affairs and Sports and other bodies on matters of competence, as well as in the relevant working groups of BusinessEurope.

She has worked in the field of Human Resources for more than 25 years in managerial and consulting roles in multinational and Greek companies, specializing in corporate culture, the creation of a modern workplace, as well as the development of human resources systems and their digital transformation.

She holds an MA in Industrial Relations from the University of Warwick and an MA in Communications Policy Studies from City University.

Maggie Athanassiadi

Maggie Athanassiadi is Director of Industry, Growth, Technology & Innovation Division of SEV.

She is responsible for industrial policy, growth strategies, investments, digital transformation, innovation, research commercialization and technology adoption. Her main efforts focus on increasing the share of industry in GDP, systematically strengthening investments, improving the digital maturity of enterprises, reinforcing the innovation ecosystem to scale up quickly and facilitating the transformation of research activities to value adding products and services.

She has extensive experience with business development as an entrepreneur herself. She has established and managed production units in Greece and abroad and she has achieved extraordinary results in growth, revenue and operational performance, mainly based on extroversion, new technologies, Innovation and high-quality standards.

She has also worked as Senior Consultant, responsible for the project management of various operational and strategic consulting projects related to the reform, restructure and digitalization of the Greek Public sector.

She is a Chemical Engineer, ‎NTUA, and has a certificate in internal auditing for quality management systems.

Michael Mitsopoulos

Michael Mitsopoulos (PhD Boston University) is director of Business Environment and Regulatory Affairs at SEV, where he has also worked as an economist.

He held the position of vice chair at the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee of BusinessEurope from 2011 till 2015. Previously he has worked in the financial services sector and as a ministerial advisor in the General Secretariat for Commerce.

He has taught at the University of Piraeus and the Athens University of Economics and Business and has written books and published articles, among other, on the Greek economy, growth economics, law and economics, European integration, structural reforms and tax policy.

Diana Georgakopoulou

Diana is a graduate of the Department of Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Crete, holding an MSc in Environmental Science and Technology from Imperial College and a certificate in Business Sustainability Management from Cambridge University.

She began her professional experience in a consulting company, participating in significant projects of Environmental Impact Studies. Additionally, she held positions in multinational companies in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector and the building materials industry, gaining extensive experience in waste management, sustainable development, circular economy, and the development of new sustainable products.

Since December 2023, she has held the position of General Director of Sustainable Development at SEV BCSD, with a portfolio focusing on green transition, emphasizing addressing climate change, transitioning to a circular economy, and advocating for biodiversity.

Vicky Makrygianni

Vicky Makrygianni

Vicky Makrigianni is Director of International Relations & Regional Policy at SEV.

She has studied International Relations and Politics in various institutions (LSE, King’s College London, Sciences-Po Paris, Sussex University) and has worked in many Greek organizations, since 2005 (among others: Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, Organisation Against Drugs, European Parliament, Institute of Strategic and Development Studies).

Her main task is to help Greek companies increase the number of exporting destinations and their shares in foreign markets. For that, her department has initiated ExportReady, a comprehensive program for the assistance of Greek exporting companies. ExportReady has three pillars: ExportReady Master which consists of a series of workshops on specialized export topics, ExportReady Discover which offers strategic intelligence for all sectors of the Greek economy and all foreign target markets and Export Ready Connect, that gives the opportunity to Greek companies to participate in trade missions and business networking in foreign markets. These services are destined to all sectors and sizes of Greek companies and their success rate is very high.

Nadia Rontoyanni

Nadia Rontoyanni

Born in Athens, raised in Montreal, Canada, educated and trained in the United States.

Obtained a BA (Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics) and an MPA (Master of Public Administration) Degrees from George Mason University, Virginia, USA.

She has over 30 years of experience in international development cooperation, in business development, and in association management of membership-based organizations.

In Washington, she worked 8 years for the World Bank in public and external affairs issues.

She returned to Greece, and from 1993 to 2011 she was General Manager of bilateral Chambers of Commerce and Business Councils for the countries of USA, Canada, Great Britain, China, representing members business interests and cooperation objectives, primarily for investment sourcing of more than 100 foreign companies doing business in Greece and over 1000 Greek enterprises for export promotion and investment sourcing and doing business in foreign markets. As Managing Director, she organized and developed an MBA School in Thessaloniki, under the auspices of the Federation of Industries of Greece. She served as Managing Director of the Hellenic Export Organization for the promotion of Greek exports in foreign markets.

Between 2013-2015, under SEV’s Export Program Initiative, she was Consultant to Greek Enterprises, member companies of SEV, for Extroversion and Export Promotion Strategies.

From 2015 at SEV, she is Director of Membership, Revenues and Regional Networks, she is responsible for responding to/and channeling members’ tailored engagement in SEV’s activities, services and benefits and for developing productive relations with SEV’s members, by implementing SEV’s membership policy. She manages SEV’s income generation sources, securing revenues for the organization, developing SEV’s membership base locally and regionally through the recruitment of New Members, managing SEV’s Annual Sponsorship Program for SEV’s activities.

She contributes, voluntarily, to problem solving for public hospital issues, and for insularity issues.

Roza Monou

Roza Monou is a marketing and communications professional with 18+ years of experience. She holds a BSc in Communications and Mass Media from the National University of Athens, as well as an MSc in Marketing and Communications with New Technologies from the Athens University of Economics and Business.

She has held several executive positions in the private sector, bringing into fruition intricate projects such as Cityofathens.com back in 2007 and working for clients such as Eurobank, Johnson & Johnson Hellas, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, Philips Hellas, Piaggio Hellas, and more.

During her work in the public sector, she pioneered social media communications and open-data policies in government and founded Startupgreece.gov.gr in 2011.

Infected with the startup virus, in 2012 she co-founded and managed the development of Spoonmates.com, a social dining online venture launched in 2013.

In 2016, she assumed the position of Senior Advisor at SEV Hellenic Federation of Enterprises, crafting and successfully implementing a comprehensive digital and social media strategy for the organization. Today, she holds the position of Corporate Communications & Events Director.

Dimitris Vergados

Dimitris Vergados

Born in Athens in 1968, Dimitris holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Greece with postgraduate studies in Business Administration at the University of Piraeus. He currently serves as the Director for Public and Media Communication at SEV. His collaboration with SEV began in July 2004, when he took on the position of Media Coordinator.

Previously, he served for 12 years as Director of Special Publications and Research for a specialized business-to-business information organization covering industrial development and investments, total quality management, logistics-supply chain organization, automation systems, packaging, etc.

He also collaborated with the office of the President of the Hellenic Republic from 1997 to 1998.

In 1995, he was awarded the “Leon Melas Prize in Journalism” by SEV Hellenic Federation of Enterprises.

Among others, Dimitris is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, the Hellenic Management Association and the American Society for Quality.

He is married with two children.

Yannos Mitsos

Yannos Mitsos is an Economist and Political Scientist with extensive experience in the public and private fields. He studied at the University of Essex and the London School of Economic and Political Science. During his professional career, at the General Secretariat for Industry, the private sector, and in politics, he has concentrated on developing linkages and connections between knowledge and production, policies and entrepreneurship, innovation and competitiveness, and the role businesses can play in increasing their growth potential and economic and social impact. Yannos is at SEV since 2012 and currently works as Director of Business Issues & Content. He is fluent in Greek, English and French and also speaks Italian and some Spanish.

Katerina Aggelopoulou

Katerina Aggelopoulou is Director of Financial, HR and Administrative Services of SEV.

She is responsible for:

– All financial activities including budgeting, reporting on P&L and managing financial risk.
– Overseeing the daily operations and implementing plans and procedures of SEV.
– Handling employee relations, payroll, benefits and training as well as coordinating the administrative functions of SEV.

She has been working in SEV since 1997, in a number of departments, where she had the opportunity to gain valuable work experience as well as to get familiar with the Organization’s culture. She specialized in negotiations with Unions with respect to Collective bargaining agreement.

She holds an MSc in Economics & Business Sciences from the University of Piraeus.

Konstantinos Diamantouros

Konstantinos Diamantouros is the Permanent Delegate of SEV in Brussels since February 2018, where he is responsible for representing SEV’s interests in BusinessEurope and towards the European Institutions.

Prior to his appointment in SEV, Konstantinos worked for 4 years in the European Commission’s Directorate General for Research and Development where he dealt with social sciences research policy and the societal acceptance of science. Subsequently, he turned to the private sector and was employed for eight years at the European Union Road Federation as Head of Office, where he was responsible for advocacy matters pertaining to road safety and financing and in charge of the association’s research projects.

He holds a Master of Science in International and European Politics from the University of Edinburgh (2002-2003) and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Politics from the University of Southampton (1998-2001).
