As foreign investors’ confidence in Greece is restored, the county is increasingly successful in attracting international capital and resources for technology and innovation. Investors are recognizing Greece’s investment potential, but the journey is only at the beginning.

Greece must raise its profile as a top investment destination. Especially regarding its FDI strategy, the country needs to refine and advance actions to attract investments with multiplier effects for the whole economy.

Collaboration between the private and the public sector is crucial. Much can be achieved when stakeholders join forces for the systematic repositioning of Greece as an investment destination for innovation and technology.

Foreign technology investments accelerate innovation, increase skills and technology, and improve Greece’s long-term ability to penetrate larger sectoral ecosystems. Expanding the portfolio of international investments with technology-intensive investments by global high-tech companies will help the country strengthen its innovation ecosystem with new Research & Development centers, centers of excellence, increased demand for local and international talent, faster scaleup, as well as wider social and economic spillover effects.

To address these pressing issues and explore ways to favourably position Greece within the global innovation and investment ecosystem, SEV – Hellenic federation of enterprises is organizing an online conference on “Reinventing Greece through Investments in Innovation”

Global entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders will share their insights from their own international corporate investments’ experience, explain what made Greece appealing to them, and discuss ways to further improve the investment environment.
