Industry 4.0: Α growth opportunity Greece should not miss, 19 December 2019

The 2019 SEV Industrial Conference “Industry 4.0: A growth opportunity Greece should not miss”, is held at a time of radical industrial transformation brought about by digital technology.
New technologies, business models, and entrepreneurial norms are adopted across Europe as part of broader digital strategies. As far as Greek industry is concerned, the stakes of this transition process are high, and so are the obstacles along the way.

The Conference will emphasize the need to mobilize all available resources (government, private sector, academia, R&D community) towards a common objective: enhancing competitiveness of Greek industry and manufacturing, by integrating technological and digital advancements into production processes.

The Conference aims at highlighting digital transformation as a prerequisite for improving competitiveness, employment and social welfare. Businesses must invest in technology, but technology alone is not enough: it is inextricably linked to new visions, new commitments, new business structures and operational processes, and new skills.

Will Greece be a laggard? Moving forward requires a long-term national digital transformation strategy, formulated through direct cooperation between the public and private realms.

30 high profile speakers will address the conference. During its 5 sessions, discussions will focus on Industry 4.0 technologies, pathways to digital transformation, challenges and opportunities for Greek industry and manufacturing, partnerships in global values chains, innovation ecosystems, and financing instruments.

Drawing from European best practices and international expertise, SEV will also present a comprehensive national program for Industry 4.0, and an appropriate public-private cooperation model for its effective implementation.
