GIZELIS ROBOTICS:“Alliance for Health and Safety: Gizelis Robotics and Athens Medical Group join forces in the battle against Covid-19 virus”
An alliance that paves the way for advances in the battle against general infections and the coronavirus has been launched, based on modern robotic technology. Athens Medical Center, the leading healthcare service group in Greece and Southeastern Europe, collaborated with Gizelis Robotics in the testing of the certified and autonomous “made in Greece” RobotSafe disinfection robots, developed by the Greek automation systems and robotic applications company Gizelis Robotics. According to the plan, Athens Medical Center proceeded to study and operate the installation of Gizelis’ spraying robots in medical service areas and operating rooms, as well as UV-C technology robots in rooms and other sheltered areas of the hospital.
RobotSafe is the leading disinfection robot with spraying and UV-C technologies for the neutralization of microbes, viruses, bacteria and Covid-19, developed by the Greek team of Gizelis Robotics. This robot has been designed to help businesses remain operational, with the aim of effectively disinfecting the premises of both employees and visitors. According to the technical measurements and certification of the Hellenic Pasteur Institute and Athens Medical Group, RobotSafe is characterized by reliability and efficiency in its operation, ensuring a hygienic and safe operating environment for both employees and customers.
It should be noted that the advanced technology and the embedded software that has been integrated enable the robot to recognize its path, avoid any obstacles, dynamically redesign the path to be followed and spray at the points that need disinfection, enabling the user to control it and monitor results before and after the disinfectant spraying.
After the tests were completed and all the objectives relating to the robot’s efficiency were achieved, Athens Medical Group, having the safety of patients, attendants and medical staff as its main priority, proceeded to extend the agreement with Gizelis Robotics. So, apart from Athens Medical Center, RobotSafe visited the clinic of Peristeri Medical, providing its high quality services to the clinic and offering an additional layer of protection to the already safe hospitals of Athens Medical Group. According to schedule, the robot will soon visit the rest of the Group’s hospitals.
In addition to the joining of forces with the aim of developing Greek robotics technology, the collaboration has a strategic character as the two CEOs of the companies are members of the Hellenic Union of Entrepreneurs (E.EN.E.). The aim of the association is to develop wealth and goodwill in Greece, by strengthening production, innovation and competitiveness. This common goal was actively served by the partnership between Athens Medical Group and Gizelis Robotics, which shall be a lasting one and continue for the benefit of Greek production, entrepreneurship and society. An additional “weapon”, originating from Greek know-how and “made in Greece” technology, is being added to the arsenal of the country and businesses in the battle against the pandemic.
Mr. Evangelos Gizelis, founder and CEO of Gizelils Robotics, stated: “The partnership with Athens Medical Group on RobotSafe constitutes a strong vote of confidence in our technology. Gizelis Robotics is particularly honored by the fact that a leading healthcare group, operating at the highest international standards of quality and safety, is embracing RobotSafe. We are convinced that the challenge of the pandemic, the need to meet the high demand for an infection-free work environment and a safe return to normality, today and in the near future, creates opportunities for partnerships and alliances driven by innovation and robotic technology”.
Dr. Vassilis Apostolopoulos, CEO of Athens Medical Group, noted: “It is our goal at Athens Medical Group to contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies associated with the health sector, and robotic technology – also in the field of disinfection – currently constitutes a key tool for health promotion and a useful “ally” in the fight against the pandemic. Robotic solutions are the future and, being true to our motto, we will continue to stay one step ahead, supporting tomorrow’s technologies and contributing to their development. Besides, it gives us great pleasure to work with Greek companies that share the same vision and to support the work of Greek minds, scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs who create jobs and added value in Greece. The working groups on both sides deserve congratulations for their important work and success”.
